| Policies for UT Tyler Herrington Patriot Center Shelter
Designated Shelter Area
The first floor of the Herrington Patriot Center has been designated as the UT Tyler American Red Cross shelter. This includes the Fisch Convocation Center, select showers and a dining area. Signage indicates what is for use by the shelter and by the University community.
A park has been created for the evacuees near the entrance of the shelter, west of the HPC. Evacuees have access to the intramural field when not in use by UT Tyler students. More...

UT Tyler Grants Employee Emergency Leave for Disaster Relief
The University of Texas system Chancellor Mark Yudof has declared that any full-time UT employee may take up to 14 days of paid emergency leave for volunteer work with an established professional or charitable group of volunteers in connection with disaster relief efforts associated with Hurricane Katrina. UT Tyler ID Needed At All Times in HPC Due to Shelter
All Herrington Patriot Center patrons should be prepared to present their UT Tyler ID card, due to the Fisch Convocation Center serving as an active evacuation site for individuals displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
The evacuees are in the Fisch Convocation Center and are using select HPC locker rooms. The pool, fitness center area and the general use locker rooms are not to be used by evacuees because of liability issues. More...

Meadows Gallery Features Works by Art Faculty
Recent works by the art studio faculty are on exhibit through Friday, Oct. 7, at the Meadows Gallery, located in the UT Tyler Cowan Center.
A closing reception will be held 6-7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6, at the gallery. All events are open to the public.
The Art Studio Faculty Exhibition features works in media ranging from sculpture and ceramics to collage and painting.More...
