Student Veterans Reach Money Goal for Spotlight
February 20, 2006

A UT Tyler graduate and Army soldier donated almost $400 to the UT Tyler University Student Veterans Association to assist in purchasing a spotlight for the American flag on campus.

“I saw the article on the UT Tyler website and decided I wanted to donate the money, because the flag is very important to me,” said Scott Lunato, December 2005 UT Tyler graduate who has been active in the Army for 19 years.

The student veterans have been lowering and raising the American flag daily to coincide with the etiquette of displaying the flag. Unless spotlighted, the American flag should not fly in the dark, and should also be taken down during inclement weather. More>>>
