UT Tyler Encouraging Fitness Participation in Texas Round-Up

Texas Roundup logoPresident Rodney Mabry is encouraging all UT Tyler faculty and staff to participate in Gov. Rick Perry’s 3rd annual Texas Round-Up Fitness Initiative.

The Texas Round-Up is a statewide effort to encourage Texans of all fitness levels to incorporate daily physical activity and healthy choices into their lives. The program asks participants to be physically active for at least 30 minutes a day five days a week, or 150 minutes a week, for six weeks.

The UT Tyler competition will be held March 6 – April 29 with the option of participating the week of spring break. More>>>


UT Tyler Professors Receive $26,000 Grant to Study in Japan


Three UT Tyler professors have received a $26,000 grant to participate in a year-long study of Japan, which includes a three-week travel study in Japan, Dr. Arlene Horne, UT Tyler director of sponsored research, announced.

The grant is funded by the Center for East Asian Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, which is an interdisciplinary unit comprised of faculty members whose teaching and research focuses primarily on China, Japan, Korea and bordering areas. More...

UT Tyler Student Receives ASHRAE Scholarship

The ASHRAE scholarship program is designed to encourage and assist in educating men and women who are pursuing a career in the field of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration. More...

The UT Tyler Nursing Student Association achieved goals, won contests and collected titles Feb. 15 – 18 at the Texas Nursing Student Association State Convention held in San Antonio.
