Making a Wish Come True

Alexis Serio, assistant professor of art, and four UT Tyler art students created an ocean-themed bedroom to fulfill the wish of a 7-year-old child with leukemia. Sea creatures, mermaids and dolphins were painted, and one student sewed coordinating curtains, pillows and a bed canopy. The child is being treated at the UT M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and is expected to return home late October. This project was completed in partnership with Children’s Wish Foundation International.
