Friends Don't Let Friends Drive
UT Tyler students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in the Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive program offered by the UT Tyler Recreation Sports Wellness Education program.
During the month of June, participants are asked to experience modern life without the use of a car. Alternative modes of transportation include riding a bike, walking, running or using public transportation.
The benefits of such efforts include increased health, saving money on gas, improving the environment, patriotism and personal adventure.
Another aspect of the program is to discover the obstacles and excuses of those who believe they cannot participate. Each program participant should compile a list of obstacles to make the FDLFD program a year-round lifestyle change.
To sign-up, call 903.565.5571 or email Bob Hepler, UT Tyler director of recreational facilities, at bhepler@uttyler.edu.
