Workshops Scheduled for UT Tyler/Peltier Business Competition
The University of Texas at Tyler will hold a series of applied workshops for the 2007 New Venture Business Competition sponsored by Peltier Chevrolet-Nissan and Tyler Economic Development Council, President Rodney H. Mabry, announced.
The workshops are open to all university students and will cover all aspects of developing and presenting a business plan. Dr. Greg Clary- professor and extension economist-management at Texas A&M University will lead the workshops.
The four workshops will be held 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25; Wednesday, Jan 31; Tuesday Feb. 6 and Monday Feb.12.
“Each session offers opportunities to learn from experts experienced with business development and venture plan competitions,” Dr. Isaura Flores, competition coordinator, said.
Students will compete for $235,000 in cash and prizes. First place winners will receive $100,000 cash and $100,000 relocation cash incentive. Second and third place winners will receive $25,000 and $10,000, respectively.
The New Venture competition is open to all faculty-sponsored, full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at any college or university. Applications must be received by Feb. 12.
