UT Tyler Sponsors Parenting Workshop
Parent Services Center will present “Love, Anger and Parenting: Guidelines for Positive Discipline” on Saturday, Feb. 17.
This workshop will be 8:15 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the TASCA Ornelas Activity Center. UT Tyler is one of the sponsors.
Nancy Samalin, founder of parent guidance workshops, will be the featured speaker. She is an internationally known speaker, popular parent educator, and best-selling author.
Parents, teachers, childcare providers and mental health professionals will hear Samalin describe the differences between love and anger, discipline and punishment and feelings and behavior. The goal is that all those attending the conference leave with positive discipline techniques that can really be used, according to Jana Sisk, Parent Services
Center executive director.
Early registration (before February 7) is $10 and late registration is $15.
Proof of attendance will be provided and continuing education credit is available for professional counselors and marriage and family therapists.
Lunch will be provided by Spring Creek Barbeque.
Parent Services Center is a non-profit organization which seeks to provide parents and those who work with children the educational opportunities, resources and support necessary to raise children who can become healthy, contributing members of society.
