UT Tyler, UTHCT Recognized at Hope Awards

The East Texas Crisis Center recognized staff members at The University of Texas at Tyler, The University of Texas Health Center at Tyler and one UT Tyler alumna at its 15th bi-annual Hope Awards ceremony held April 30 at the Tyler Public Library.

The Hope Award recipients were Mark Pierce, UT Tyler police officer; Kerry Scruggs, UTHCT nurse practitioner; Kimberly Harvey-Livingston, UT Tyler counselor; and UT Tyler alum Joan Ford, LPC, Tyler Counseling & Assessment.

Hope Awards are given to outstanding citizens who have gone above and beyond as volunteers and professionals to help sexual assault victims.

The Hope Awards are given during Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month in April and during Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October.

One of the 15 campuses of the UT System, UT Tyler offers excellence in teaching, research, artistic performance and community service.
