Work to Begin on UT Tyler Campus Streets, Parking Lots

Work to improve durability of campus streets and parking lots at The University of Texas at Tyler will begin July 30, Gregg Lassen, UT Tyler vice president of business affairs, announced.
The parking lots at the intersection of Campus Drive and Lake Drive, including the north entrance, as well as the UT Tyler Business Administration Building and Robert R. Muntz Library will undergo a seal coating project. Sections of these campus streets and parking lots will be closed following the schedule below:
- Monday and Tuesday, July 30 – 31: The intersection of Patriot Village and the UT Tyler baseball park, to the first entrance of the Business Administration Building parking lot, encompassing the Muntz Library parking lot, will be closed. This section will reopen Wednesday, Aug. 1.
- Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 1 – 2: An area from the north entrance, continuing to the Business Administration Building’s third entrance, will be closed.
“Thanks to everyone for your much appreciated patience while we increase the beautification of UT Tyler’s campus streets and buildings,” said Thomas Pinkerton, UT Tyler manager of campus projects.
One of the 15 campuses of the UT System, UT Tyler offers excellence in teaching, research, artistic performance and community service. More than 70 undergraduate and graduate degrees are available at UT Tyler, which has an enrollment of nearly 6,000 high-ability students at its campuses in Tyler, Longview and Palestine.
