Essay Contest Underway at UT Tyler

Two UT Tyler organizations welcome writers to bring their creativity to the forefront by participating in an essay contest. Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, and the Tyler Collegiate Model UN Club are sponsoring an essay contest in commemoration of 9-11.
Submissions should be sent via e-mail to velliott@patriots.uttyler.edu no later than Friday, Sept. 7.
Cash prizes will be awarded: $100 for first, $50 for second and $25 for third.
Essay guidelines:
- Essay title: “Making a Safer More Compassionate World.”
- 500 words
- Size 12, Times New Roman font; double-spaced.
- Incorporate your innovative visions and ideas of how to make a safer, more compassionate world.
- Insert your name and contact information in the header section.
Winners will be announced after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 during the 9-11 commemorating event in the UT Tyler University Center's open area.
