UT Tyler Students in ‘Dancing with the Tyler Stars’

Three UT Tyler students are among six individuals participating in a ballroom dance competition named after the popular ABC network television show.
Will Edmond of Douglasville, Katy Bourque of Whitehouse and Charlie Peterson of Tyler are participants in this year’s ‘Dancing with the Tyler Stars,’ a fundraiser benefiting Tyler AIDS Services. Edmond and Bourque are two of the "stars," while Peterson will serve as an instructor/dance partner for the event.
The event will take place at 7 p.m. Sept. 22 at Villa di Felicita.
- Edmond, a senior journalism major, appeared on NBC’s hit television game show Deal or No Deal. With some of his winnings from the show, he opened Will’s Seafood Co. Restaurant in Tyler.
- A senior speech communication major, Peterson is a professional ballroom dancer who began Ballroom Dance Company. He currently teaches dance classes at the Herrington Patriot Center.
- Bourque is a senior psychology major who serves as a volunteer for People Attempting to Help.
