Parenting Conference set for Feb. 9 at UT Tyler Ornelas Activity Center

A parenting conference presented by the Parent Services Center is set for Saturday, Feb. 9 at the UT Tyler Ornelas Activity Center, Suzanne Brians, senior lecturer in reading education and conference coordinator, announced.
“Because Kids are Worth it,” is a one-day conference which will be held 8:15 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Ornelas Activity Center, 3402 Old Omen Road in Tyler. Internationally-recognized speaker and author Barbara Coloroso will serve as the featured presenter.
In three sessions, Coloroso will provide practical suggestions for guiding children through the situations of growing up in both the home and school environments.
Cost is $10 with registration before Jan. 31, and late registration cost is $15.
Parent Services Center is a nonprofit organization which seeks to provide parents and those who work with children the educational opportunities, resources and support necessary to raise a child who can become a healthy, contributing member of society.
