UT Tyler Patriot Talon Named 2008 Texas APME Best Paper

The Patriot Talon student newspaper at The University of Texas at Tyler was named 2008 university/college Newspaper of the Year during the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors Association Convention held March 29 - 30, Dr. Alisa White, College of Arts and Sciences dean, announced.

The paper, which has a staff consisting of an editor in chief, six associate editors, staff writers, photographers, ad sales representatives and a business coordinator, won in the non-daily category. Vanessa Curry, UT Tyler lecturer in journalism, serves as the paper’s adviser.
