UT Tyler to Hold Robotics Competition for Middle, High School Students

The University of Texas at Tyler College of Engineering and Computer Science will host the 2012 FIRST Tech Challenge robotics tournament 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 at the UT Tyler Ornelas Activity Center, Kay Pleasant, competition coordinator, announced.

Students, with guidance from their teachers and mentors, will aim to build the most innovative robots and work together to obtain the most points possible.

This competition is a qualifying event for the FTC World Championships to be held in April in St. Louis, Mo.

UT Tyler also will host the VEX Robotics qualifying tournament Saturday, Feb. 18 at the OAC.
