UT Tyler student health and wellness, in conjunction with the Office of Student Services, will hold a public event as part of the National Rally Against Rape 11:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 on campus, Kim Harvey-Livingston, student services director, announced.

The public rally will begin at 11:30 a.m. on the patio just outside The Met.

Discussions and a showing of the film “Transition to Survivor” and documentary “The Line” will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the University Center theater.

“This event is open to everyone, and it will be a safe place for survivors,” said Samantha Dwight, health education specialist.

The event is being organized in cooperation with the national event sponsored by Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment. PAVE is a leading national nonprofit group that shatters the silence of sexual violence, Dwight added.
