Wood to Serve on Advisory Board to Leading International Magazine

Debbie Wood has been selected to serve on the advisory board to Special Events Magazine, Jerre Iversen, vice president for university advancement, announced.
Wood is UT Tyler’s director of special events and will serve a three-year term on the board, which consists of 30 special event industry professionals.
“Debbie is recognized by her peers as one of the best,” Iversen said. “To be appointed to the advisory board of the top magazine in the industry is a very big honor, and UT Tyler is fortunate to have Debbie as our own.”
As an advisory board member, Wood will provide expert advice to Special Events editorial staff on the best way the magazine and the ‘Special Event Trade Show’ can serve and promote the special event industry. She will also judge the Special Events Magazine Gala Awards.
Serving UT Tyler since 2005, Wood holds a bachelor of arts degree from Ambassador University. She has 25 years experience in special events and provides a centralized standard of excellence, quality and protocol to the UT Tyler Offices of the President, University Advancement and Provost. Wood also serves on the Academic Event Professional 2014 International Conference planning committee.Her memberships include International Special Events Society-Dallas Chapter, Association of Fundraising Professionals-East Texas Chapter, Tyler Executive Women’s Network, Inc., Northeast Texas Economic Development Roundtable and Leadership Tyler Class 20.
