Rosemary Cooper will present a co-authored qualitative pilot study, “Exploring the Relationship Between Employee Burnout and Employee Engagement” at the Academy of Human Resource Development International Research Conference in the Americas Feb. 19 – 21 in St. Louis. A UT Tyler double alumna, Cooper is the UT Tyler director of enrollment services, and she has served the university since 1999.

“Findings from the study revealed a significant relationship between employee burnout and employee engagement but also revealed distinct and defining factors that characterize each. Discussing these constructs with the respondents themselves and analyzing data collected in the field will hopefully lead to future measurement clarity,” according to the study abstract.

The pilot study will be presented as an interactive roundtable session as part of the conference’s “human resource development performance and strategy” track.

Cooper holds a bachelor of science in general studies and a master of public administration, both from UT Tyler. She currently is enrolled in the university’s Ph.D. in human resource development program.
