ProtoCall, the new crisis line funded by UT System, is now live, Ona Tolliver, UT Tyler assistant vice president for student affairs and dean of students, announced.

In the event of a crisis after hours, UT Tyler students may call 903.566.7254 and be directly connected to the ProtoCall Center, where counselors will be available to provide resource information, interventions, determine level of care needed and notify the on-call counselor in emergency situations.

“We are excited to have this available to our students,” said Kim Harvey-Livingston, student services director. “Having a 24-7 crisis line provides students access to a masters-level counselor at any time, day or night, even over holidays."

Faculty, staff, resident assistants and parents can also call and consult about a student who they are concerned about, she added.
