UT Tyler will hold 2014 Patriot Palooza Aug. 25 – 29, Ona Tolliver, assistant vice president for student affairs and dean of students, announced.

Patriot Palooza is UT Tyler’s annual welcome week and provides all students with free food, concerts, movies and other social activities.

“It’s one of our favorite traditions here on campus,” said Jessi Reel, student development specialist who coordinates campus activities. “Departments from all across campus have come together to create a fun week of events to help new and returning students feel welcomed and get involved. I’m really looking forward to seeing students back on campus, and I hope they come out and see what we’ve been planning for them.”

UT Tyler 2014 Patriot Palooza events include:

Monday, Aug. 25

• Noon Harvey Lake Deck: Back to School Barbecue Bash featuring live music by The Bigsbys

• 4 – 6 p.m. University Center Patio: Swoopstation – annual student organization showcase

Tuesday, Aug. 26

• 6:30 p.m. Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex: Patriots Orange and White Game with Comedy Night featuring Sam Conroe and Movie Night featuring “Divergent”

Wednesday, Aug. 27

• 5:30 p.m. Harvey Lake Deck: Meet the Greeks Hotdog Cookout

• 8:30 p.m. Jones Gym: Poker Tournament

Thursday, Aug. 29

• 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. UC Ballroom: Piggy Bank Palooza by Student Money Management

• 4 p.m. Sports Café: Bingo

• 7 p.m. Harvey Lake Deck: Concert featuring The Casey Daniels Band

Friday, Aug. 30

• 7:30 – 10 a.m. Harvey Lakes: Breakfast

• 7 – 10 p.m. Herrington Patriot Center Pool: Pool Party

• 7:30 p.m. Intramural Fields: King Campbell Spectacular Cross Country Meet
