Dr. Dennis Combs will be featured in a City of Tyler televised special on schizophrenia, to air next month. Combs is a UT Tyler assistant professor of psychology and licensed clinical psychologist. He has devoted more than 10 years to studying social cognition, paranoia and other psychological problems associated with schizophrenia.

Combs, along with collaborators, have created Social Cognition and Interaction Training, a firsthand intervention that has received international attention for improving the lives of persons with schizophrenia.

A group therapy addressing social dysfunction, SCIT has been featured by the American Psychiatric Association journal, “Psychiatric Services,” and “ABC News’’ as a potential best practice in rehabilitating schizophrenic patients.
