UT Tyler Announces 2016 University Appreciation Week

This year's UT Tyler University Appreciation Week is May 16 – 20, President Rodney Mabry announced.

Recreational activities are planned each afternoon for the UT Tyler campus community.

"For the weekday activities, we are excited to announce that we have added two new options this year – iJump and Pottery Café – but we will also still have some of the favorites such as the movies and zoo," said Melissa Hill, 2015-16 USAC chair. "We look forward to all the university employees enjoying a great week."

To kick off University Appreciation Week, a luncheon for university employees, retirees and their guests will be Monday, May 16 in the University Center Ballroom. Attendees will enjoy a choice of fajitas or barbecue at this year's luncheon.

"Due to the continued growth of the university and space limitations, we are having to change up the way the lunch will operate this year," Hill added. "We will be having two lunch times: 11 a.m. – noon and 12:30 –1:30 p.m. When the lunch survey is sent out, employees will be asked to select a lunch time, and they can also choose to bring one guest."

Offices will remain open during the week. Participation requires the approval of the supervisor and coordination to minimize service disruption.
