University of Texas at Tyler graduate student Apurupa Amperayani of India was invited to present her research work at the prestigious Computing in Cardiology Conference in Rennes, France.
The electrical engineering major currently works in Dr. Premananda Indic's research center. Indic is a lead principal investigator of a National Science Foundation Smart & Connected Health grant. His team is developing a wearable biosensor system for the prediction of life-threatening events in preterm infants.
"The work that Dr. Indic and his graduate students are engaged in demonstrates that our faculty and students have the intellect and ability to make a positive impact in our community and beyond," said Dr. Alecia Wolf, assistant dean of The Graduate School.
