![]() UT Tyler Library To Offer Storytelling ConcertsFebruary 22, 2001 The University of Texas at Tyler Robert R. Muntz Library will offer a series of storytelling concerts for four and five year olds, Jeanne Pyle, library director, has announced. The concerts, which are in conjunction with the Squatty Pines Storytelling Festival, will begin at 8:45, 9:45 and 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27 in the Muntz Library, room 401. "We expect more than 350 preschool and kindergarten students from Tyler schools as well as from Lindale and Troup. We welcome more students from other preschools and home-school children in this age group," Joanne Buendtner, library assistant and coordinator of the storytelling concerts, said. Folktales and other age-appropriate stories will be read by the UT Tyler Muntz Library staff, UT Tyler students and members of the East Texas Storytellers Guild. Activities include fingerplays and songs. Spaces are still available for the 8:45 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. concerts. To reserve a space, call (903) 566-7174. |
