UT Tyler to Sponsor Major/Minor ExpoThe University of Texas at Tyler Office of Student Services will sponsor a Major/Minor Expo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at the University Center, Krista Richardson, coordinator of career services, has announced.
Currently enrolled students will have an opportunity to meet with representatives from academic departments in a central location to discuss courses of study and ultimately declare a major or minor."Many first- and second-year students register for classes not having made a decision on their major course of study,'' Richardson said. Participants will include the Colleges of Business and Technology and Nursing and Health Sciences; departments of chemistry, communication, computer science, history, literature and languages, mathematics, social sciences, special services, technology and electrical and mechanical engineering; and music and theatre programs.
There will be free food and drinks. Door prizes will be given.
Door prize donors include Chick-Fil-A, Exclusively Yours Advertising, Green Acres Bowl, Hickory Fare Bar-B-Que, Mega Life & Health Insurance Co., Nabisco, Traditions, Tyler Coca-Cola Bottling Co., UT Tyler Bookstore, Wal-Mart and the UT Tyler Subway.
UT Tyler offers more than 70 undergraduate and graduate degrees in five colleges.
