"This is an exciting time in the life of UT Tyler and it is professionally exciting for me to have this opportunity to work with colleagues throughout the university and to renew my interest in teaching," Dr. Clark said.

During his seven years of service at UT Tyler, he has led his college through a restructuring of educator preparation program support services, the implementation of the Center for the Professional Development of Teachers, the establishment of the Psycho-biology Laboratory and the implementation of the Principal Institute and UT Tyler Literacy Center.

UT Tyler has maintained its strong accreditation status for educator preparation programs with the State Board for Educator Certification during his tenure as dean.

The university will appoint an interim dean for the College of Education and Psychology within the next few weeks. The search for a permanent dean will begin during the fall 2002 semester.
