Honor Society Awards Scholarship to UT Tyler Student

Katie Haugland, a student at The University of Texas at Tyler, is the recipient of a scholarship for $1,000 from the Beta Gamma Sigma national business honor society.

Haugland, a resident of Hallsville, is a junior majoring in accounting.

The scholarship is awarded to outstanding students enrolled in a business administration program at a college or university accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business International. Each collegiate chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma selects one student to receive the award.

Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest national recognition a student can receive in an undergraduate or master’s program in business or management accredited by the AACSB. To be eligible for membership, a student must rank in the upper 7 percent of the junior class, upper 10 percent of the senior class or upper 20 percent of the graduating master’s class.
