UT Tyler Presidential Scholarship Luncheon to Honor Jack White

The University of Texas at Tyler will hold a Presidential Scholarship luncheon honoring benefactor Jack White at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, in the University Center.

The Jack White Student Luncheon will be open to all recipients of Presidential Scholarships established by White and his wife, the late Dorothy Fay White.

Among their numerous contributions to the university, the Whites established a total of 12 endowed Presidential Scholarships at UT Tyler, a number unequaled by any one contributor.

Philanthropy is a longtime tradition in the White family, said Dr. Rodney Mabry, UT Tyler president. “Jack and Dorothy Fay really do love young people and simply followed a pattern with which they were familiar -- a way of life.’’
