Muntz Library Jan. 12 – 26, 2004, announced Jeanne Pyle, Muntz Library director. “Through a grant supplied by the UT Tyler Friends of the Arts, we are proud to house this exhibit which is organized by the Texas Council for the Humanities Resource Center. The original works by contemporary African-American artists were part of an exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art. The photo-panel version is on national tour. Video programs also are available for viewing by appointment. A 45-minute video program highlights the themes of the Black Art – Ancestral Legacy exhibit. A second 40-minute video, Black History/Black Vision, includes interviews with six black visionary artists. Viewing arrangements may be made for individuals, small groups or classes.
