![]() UT Tyler Students to Offer Marketing Assistance to Local BusinessesDr. Jane Saber, assistant professor of marketing at The University of Texas at Tyler, is taking applications from local businesses for assistance with marketing plans. Her students will be completing the plans, with her expertise and supervision. “The UT Tyler College of Business and Technology greatly appreciates the support of the community over the years,’’ Dr. Saber said. “This new initiative has been established as part of our interest in working with the community as well as ensuring quality education for our students.’’ Criteria for selection for assistance include the following: -- Existing local businesses (non-franchised, locally owned and operated preferred) may include product or service oriented firms including restaurants, stores and other organizations. -- Time and ability to cooperate with students in terms of corporate information. -- Companies that would have difficulties paying for a marketing plan preferred. Participating companies will receive a copy of the marketing plan prepared, as well as a presentation by students regarding the plan. Companies interested in participating should submit to janeleesaber@yahoo.com a one-page statement of the type of company and why the marketing plan is necessary and otherwise financially not feasible.
