UT Tyler 2005 Spring Enrollment Up 10 Percent

Once again The University of Texas at Tyler records an increase in headcount and semester credit hours for the spring semester, President Rodney H. Mabry announced.

Reports as of the 12th class day indicate the spring 2005 headcount to be 5,265, a 10 percent increase over spring 2004, and 15 percent increase in semester credit hours, which total 54,818.

The 12th class day figures include the university’s campuses in Longview and Palestine. Spring enrollment for Longview is 324 compared to 336 in spring 2004. The UT Tyler Palestine Campus’ spring enrollment is 178 compared to 132 in spring 2004.

UT Tyler is an exciting, four-year educational institution that offers excellence in teaching, research, artistic performance and community service.

The university draws students from the East Texas area and across the entire state, as well as from 31 states and 52 countries. There are more than 70 degree programs available.

Expanding to meet the needs of its students and the East Texas community, UT Tyler is currently constructing a 158,000 square-foot engineering, sciences and technology building. Projected to open in fall 2005, this building will house the engineering program, as well as some of the science and technology courses.
