The University of Texas at Tyler will dedicate the Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Complex at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, Dr. Dale Lunsford, vice president for student affairs and external relations, announced.
The dedication and ribbon cutting will he held at the complex, which is located on the corner of Old Omen Road and University Boulevard near the UT Tyler Louise Herrington Patriot Center.
The program will be as follows:
Noon - 12:45 p.m.
- VIP lunch.
- Remarks by Carla Overbeck, Olympic Gold Medalist and Captain of the 1999 World Champion U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team.
12:45 p.m.
- Dedication welcome and introductions by President Rodney H. Mabry.
- National Anthem sung by Brittany Stone, White Oak High School freshman.
- Remarks by President Mabry and Dr. Howard Patterson, assistant vice president for student affairs.
- Donor response by Mr. and Mrs. James Perkins.
- Student response by UT Tyler men’s soccer player Adam McAlpine and UT Tyler women’s soccer player Jana Cruce.
- Ribbon cutting by President Mabry, Dr. Patterson, UT Tyler men’s soccer coach Kenny Jones, UT Tyler women’s soccer coach Stefani Webb and Citizens 1st Bank Board of Directors.
- Board members are chairman James Perkins, vice chairman Randy Grooms, Andy Brown, Nelson Clyde IV, R.C. “Bobby” Curtis, Kevin Eltife, Charles Hassesll, Nancy McKean, James Perkins Jr., Laura Perkins Fonville, Margaret Perkins, advisory director James Sexton, Todd Staples, Bruce Stovall and Peggy Wright.
Noon – 2 p.m.
- Soccer ball juggler.
- Face painting.
1:15 p.m.
- First kick made midfield by Mr. James Perkins.
1:15 – 2 p.m.
- Overbeck will autograph soccer balls.
- UT Tyler cheerleaders will “give away” soccer balls to audience members.
2 p.m.
- UT Tyler’s women’s soccer team plays Hardin-Simmons College.
4 p.m.
- UT Tyler’s men’s soccer team plays Hardin-Simmons College.
