Briana Sutton of Mineola, a graduate student at The University of Texas at Tyler, will have artwork displayed at this year’s Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art exhibition in Augusta, Ga.

The show, titled A Sense of Place 2012, will begin Friday, Sept. 14 and close Friday, Oct. 12. Sponsors are the Georgia Council for the Arts and National Council for the Arts.

Sutton will graduate with a master of fine arts in spring 2013. She currently is a graduate teaching assistant within the university’s Department of Art and Art History and has had other work exhibited in and around the East Texas area.

The Department of Art and Art History is part of the College of Arts and Sciences at UT Tyler. Programs of study are offered for students pursuing careers in art as well as those seeking to complement other areas of study with expanded knowledge and ability in visual art.
