The University of Texas at Tyler is among the most affordable institutions offering outstanding online programs in the state, Dr. Alisa White, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, announced.
Affordable Colleges Online, an independent resource, analyzed online degree programs from more than 2,000 accredited colleges and universities across the nation. Specifically, AC Online focused on distance learning options from public and private nonprofit institutions with full accreditation.
UT Tyler is ranked in the top 20 among public Texas institutions listed, besting Texas Tech University, University of North Texas and Texas State University as well as three other UT System schools – UT El Paso, UT Dallas and UT Arlington.
“UT Tyler offers an exceptional collection of distance learning options at a very affordable price,” said Dr. Scott Marzilli, UT Tyler assistant vice president for academic innovation and student success. “Here at UT Tyler, we combine quality, affordability and flexibility, giving students a variety of courses to fit their learning styles and lifestyles.”

“Distance learning from today’s best colleges and universities helps students receive a top-notch education while they take care of family and work responsibilities. What’s more, institutions that make quality distance learning affordable show clear commitment to student success and therefore deserve special recognition,” said Dan Schuessler, founder and CEO of Affordable Colleges Online.
UT Tyler students save time and get ahead by choosing online classes, along with on-campus courses, or by entering degree programs that can be completed entirely online.
