UT Tyler to Offer “Small Business Boot Camp” in October

The University of Texas at Tyler Center for Family and Small Enterprises will hold an informational seminar series next month for small business owners in the East Texas area, Dr. James Lumpkin, College of Business and Technology dean, announced.

The UT Tyler 2014 “Small Business Boot Camp” offers five unique seminars at 5 – 6:30 p.m. in the UT Tyler David G. and Jacqueline M. Braithwaite Building, room 01055. Topics and corresponding dates are Family Business Succession and Legal Issues: Thursday, Oct. 2, Insurance and Financial Management: Thursday, Oct. 9, Social Media, Marketing and Web Design: Tuesday, Oct. 14, Banking and Obtaining Loans: Tuesday, Oct 21; and Accounting and Income Taxes: Tuesday, Oct. 28.

"The goal of the Small Business Boot Camp is to facilitate the success of family and small businesses in East Texas by providing high quality, focused and practical education opportunities,” said Dr. Jim Cater, UT Tyler associate professor and center director. “We are excited to host this event, where business owners can gather some new information and meet other like-minded business owners around our community.”
