The University of Texas at Tyler recognizes International Education Week with various celebrations and global activities, Dr. Teresa Kennedy, Office of International Programs executive director, announced.

International Education Week 2014, a joint celebration of international cultural and educational exchange sponsored by the U.S. Departments of State and Education, begins today (Nov. 17) and continues through Friday, Nov. 21.

The UT Tyler Office of International Programs will hold a study abroad fair 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. each day in the UT Tyler University Center. A selfie contest allows international students to win a prize for the best selfie photo with a professor, administrative official, adviser – or at the Riter Bell Tower.

“International Education Week is a wonderful opportunity to recognize the importance of the diverse population on the UT Tyler campus. Bringing students together for International Education Week activities provides them with an opportunity to connect with one another during an intensely busy time in the semester,” Kennedy said.
