UT Tyler 2016 Retail Summit Announced

BishopDavid Bishop, managing partner of Balvor LLC and segment leader at Brick Meets Click, will be the featured speaker of The University of Texas at Tyler's Center for Retail Enterprises 2016 Retail Summit, Dr. James Lumpkin, College of Business and Technology dean, announced.

The event will be 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23 at the UT Tyler Ornelas Activity Center, 3402 Old Omen Road. A leading expert in small-format retailing, Bishop will present "Enhancing Digital Media's Role in the Marketing Plan."

Balvor provides insights to actions via its deep knowledge of retail and how the consumer behaves across foodservice and retail classes of trade. Brick Meets Click focuses on identifying growth opportunities based on how technology is affecting the way consumers shop.

At Balvor, Bishop has worked with supermarket retailers in evaluating integrated marketing programs across digital and traditional communication channels. He also has examined how retailers are using digital platforms like email, mobile, SMS and social as part of broader marketing strategies to drive stronger business results.

At Brick Meets Click, he has lead shopper research initiatives with retailers, examining how technological and digital innovations are impacting the way consumers shop in-store and online.

Bishop holds a bachelor of arts in organizational communications and marketing from the University of Iowa.
