UT Tyler Announces 2016 Juried Student Art Exhibition

The University of Texas at Tyler Meadows Gallery will feature the 2016 Juried Student Exhibition beginning Monday, April 25, Michelle Taff, gallery coordinator, announced.

This year's juror is Elizabeth Yarosz-Ash, art professor at Midwestern State University. A public reception will be 6 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28. Prize winners will be announced.

"The Juried Student Exhibition spotlights the best of student artwork from The University of Texas at Tyler," Taff said. "This year's offerings, which vary from paintings and mixed-media collage to sculpture and ceramics, showcase the originality and individuality that the UT Tyler art program exemplifies. We are proud to present this exhibition to the public."

The exhibition will continue through Friday, July 29.

The Meadows Gallery is located in the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by special appointment.

Yarosz-Ash holds a bachelor of arts degree from Lycoming College in Williamsberg, Pennsylvania and a master of fine arts from Ohio University in Athens. She has been a professor at Midwestern State University since 1981. In 1991, she received Midwestern's highest honor, The Hardin Foundation's Distinguished Professor Award.
