The University of Texas at Tyler Announces 2017 Interprofessional Evidence-Based Practice Conference

The University of Texas at Tyler, in conjunction with CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System, will present the 3rd Annual Interprofessional Evidence-Based Practice Conference.

"Embracing the Heart: Promoting Evidence-Based Outcomes," will be 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14 in the CrossWalk Conference Center in Tyler. The public event will emphasize a broad range of EBP guidelines that focus on heart health for patients, providers and the community.

Cost is $90 per person, and pre-registration is required. Discount codes are available for all The University of Texas at Tyler's preceptors and healthcare students attending any school. Keynote and endnote speakers are award-winning researcher, consultant and founder of Civility Matters™ Dr. Cindy Clark; and Dr. Sohail Rao, system vice president for research at CHRISTUS Health, respectively.

Clark serves as a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and National League for Nursing Academy of Nursing Education. Her ground-breaking work on fostering civility and healthy work environments has brought national and international attention to the controversial issues of incivility in academic and practice environments. Her book, "Creating and Sustaining Civility in Nursing Education" received The American Journal of Nursing's 2013 'Book of the Year' honors.

Prior to joining CHRISTUS Health, Rao served as the system vice president for research for Ochsner Health System. He brings extensive experience as an academician and as a principal investigator in medical research, which has resulted in more than 250 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
