Nevada King of Athens placed third for "Outstanding Scientific Achievement in the category of Pathogenic Bacteria" with the poster presentation, "Microbial Mercury Methylation and Methane Synthesis in Caddo Lake."

"Along with receiving an award for my poster presentation, I was also greeted with a substantial amount of updated relevant information that pertained to my field of interest," said King, a biology major. "This experience was unforgettable and the thing I will cherish the most is, the plethora of scientific questions and ideas that were gained. Needless to say, that grasping the attention of this scientific community enough to win an award is astounding."
