Classes for the Fall 2017 semester at The University of Texas at Tyler Longview University Center will begin on August 28, Dr. Van Patterson, Longview University Center director, announced.

"In response to numerous student requests we have added an Anatomy and Physiology course and lab, Statistics, Nutrition for Allied Health, Drafting, Fundamentals of Management, and Lean Six Sigma - Quality to the fall schedule," said Patterson. "Each of these fulfills one or more course requirements for students pursuing degrees in nursing, criminal justice or industrial technology."

In addition, students hoping for admission to the bachelor of science in nursing program should be aware that the last day to apply is September 1. Opportunities are available for students considering becoming a nurse or going back to school to earn their bachelor's degree (LVN to BSN). However, classes are filling up and interested students should apply soon in order to be ready to begin the spring 2018 semester.

"This fall we added several prerequisite courses to help students preparing to enter the BSN program and in the spring we will be offering A&P 2 and its corresponding lab," Patterson added.

Prospective students should contact Peggy Sadler at 903.663.8103 or by email at psadler@uttyler.edu to schedule an appointment. Prospective students will learn about specific program requirements and receive assistance with the registration process. Information about industrial technology and criminal justice courses is also available online at uttyler.edu/luc or by calling 903.663.8100.
