The University of Texas at Tyler announced this week it has acquired The Reserve Apartment Complex, located off University Boulevard. The 320-bed facility will help accommodate the university's rapid residential student enrollment growth.

"With its proximity to our main Tyler campus, adding this facility to our housing portfolio was an economical, efficient way to provide needed quality living spaces for our growing residential population," said Lucas Roebuck, Chief Communications Officer.

The Reserve is a 129,000-square-foot complex located at 2851 County Road 272. With the addition of The Reserve, UT Tyler now offers more than 1,700 on-campus beds. The 8.31-acre property also has numerous amenities focused on high-end student living such as a swimming pool, fitness center, computer lab, movie theater, game room and beach volleyball court.

UT Tyler plans to honor all current leases as officials finalize university housing policies designed for the facility. Move-in for UT Tyler students is expected to begin as early as this fall.

"Like all of our living spaces, this new addition is more than just having a place for students to sleep," said Jennifer Waters, Director of Residence Life. "The Reserves has the amenities needed to provide the facilities support for a healthy, interactive student community."

A member of the prestigious UT System, The University of Texas at Tyler focuses on student success and innovative research in the more than 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs offered. With more than 10,000 students, UT Tyler has facilities in Tyler, Longview, Palestine and Houston.
