Patriot pride will be on display Thursday, Sept. 27 at the East Texas State Fair's UT Tyler Day.

To celebrate, special discounts will be available for students and the community. A "spirit discount" will be available for community members who wear UT Tyler colors, blue and orange. General admissions tickets for adults (12+) are $10, but those who wear blue and orange will just pay $6.

"This is an excellent opportunity to support and connect with our community," said Dr. Laura Jackson, assistant vice president for government and community affairs. "We are proud to partner with the East Texas State Fair to be the higher education sponsor of this great event."

Students get free admission with student ID before 7 p.m. Fifty ride-all-day wristbands and 200 $5 Fair Bucks will be provided to students at the University Center welcome desk on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 2 p.m.

"Our students can interact with the community, experience a tradition of East Texas, and most importantly, have fun," said Joshua Neaves, director of student engagement and experiential learning. "We hope that they take advantage of the UT Tyler Day as we believe they will remember their experience for a lifetime."

There will also be a shuttle service provided from the UT Tyler campus to the fair grounds and back from 2-10 p.m.

The UT Tyler Spirit Squad and UT Tyler Jazz Ensemble will perform on the main stage starting at 6 p.m.
