UT Tyler Wind Ensemble to Present Fall Concert

The University of Texas at Tyler recently announced that a wind ensemble concert will be presented by the School of Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, in the R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center's Vaughn Auditorium.

The UT Tyler Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Jeff Emge, professor of music, will perform with the Tyler Community Band as guest ensemble, conducted by Brent Farmer. The event will be open to the public.

"At Dusk'' will be the theme of the concert, with selections including "March with Trumpets'' by William Bergsma, "Sheltering Sky'' by John Mackey, "Cajun Folk Songs 1 and 2'' by Frank Ticheli and "Dusk'' by Steven Bryant.

The UT Tyler ensemble consists of 50 members, drawing from majors across the university, from music to business to nursing. "At Dusk'' will be Emge's 65th concert as conductor.
