One of UT Tyler professor of biology Dr. Neil Ford’s former graduate students, Rita S. Mehta, was mentioned for her research in an article featured by National Public Radio, www.npr.org.
Mehta is a post-doctoral researcher in the section of evolution and ecology at the University of California-Davis. She has reported that Moray eels have a set of teeth within a second set of jaws to help with the capture of prey.
At the University of California-Davis, Mehta studies the evolution of diversity in eel feeding behavior.
