Dr. John Cutcliffe, David G. Braithwaite professor of nursing, has co-authored his 7th book titled Care for the Suicidal Person. The book is based on a research study which was federally funded in the United Kingdom.

Dr. Chris Stevenson, Professor of Nursing and Head of School at Dublin City University in Ireland, serves as co-author.

Care for the Suicidal Person has received endorsements by key international figures in the field including past-Presidents of the American Association of Suicidologists, the current President of the International Association for Suicide Prevention and the holder of an endowed chair in Suicide studies.

The reviews of the book are also highly favorable. For example, Professor Ron Maris, Distinguished Professor Emeritus, University of Carolina writes, "Cutcliffe and Stevenson have written a remarkable book that has its finger on the heart and pulse of suicidal people. It is carefully crafted and immensely readable."

Published by Churchill Livingston, Care of the Suicidal Person is the first book of its kind to focus specifically on the psychiatric nursing care of suicidal people, according to Cutcliffe.
