Deborah Bell, UT Tyler clinical instructor, was one of 13 outstanding Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center alumni honored during its Distinguished Alumni Dinner.

She received the Distinguished Alumni in Community Advocacy Award for her work with Refuge International.

Bell co-founded the non-profit health care organization in 2002. Refuge International works to improve lives abroad by implementing programs in health care, nutrition and education.
