Research by Dr. Mary Fischer, professor of accounting, was cited in a March 29 New York Times articled titled "Report Sketches Crime Costing Billions: Theft From Charities."

She was joined in the research by Janet S. Greenlee of the University of Dayton, Teresa P. Gordon of the University of Idaho and Elizabeth K. Keating of Boston College. Their report was published in the December 2007 issue of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly.

Fischer holds a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut and serves as graduate studies coordinator in the UT Tyler School of Business Administration.
