Dr. Davor Jedlicka, professor of sociology, was elected to the Board of Directors of the North Texas Chapter of Fulbright Association in June 2008. The association promotes international educational and cultural exchange, supports visiting .Fulbright students, teachers, and scholars in North Texas and fosters a global network of Fulbright alumni.
Jedlicka received a Fulbright-Hays Award in 1979 for research and lectureship in former Yugoslavia. He lectured at the universities of Sarajevo, Migration Institute, the University of Zagreb and the University of Ljubljana.
In 1989, he also was also a co-director and grantee of U.S. Department of Education, Fulbright-Hays, Group Projects Abroad. The group of 12 American scholars traveled and studied in Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia just before the Balkan wars.
