Dr. W. Clayton Allen, UT Tyler professor of human resource development and technology, recently received high recognition from Sage Publishing. Allen led a team of UT Tyler scholars in coordinating a set of scholarly manuscripts focused on systematic training in the workplace.

The articles were published in the November 2006 issue of Advances in Developing Human Resources, a journal sponsored by the Academy of Human Resource Development and published by Sage, which is a worldwide publisher of scholarly journals.

At the recent editorial board meeting in Panama City, Fla., Jacylyn Hunting, Sage Publishing editor, released statistics as to the most read articles appearing in all issues of ADHR in 2006. Four of the top 10 were written by UT Tyler scholars and all appeared in the theme issue edited by Allen that was titled "ADDIE Training System Revisited." ADDIE is an acronym for the most recognized training system used in the workplace and is an abbreviation for the five training process phases: Analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate.

Other UT Tyler human resource development faculty authors receiving top 10 recognition included Dr. Paul B. Roberts and Dr. Greg G. Wang. Also included was an article written by a group of UT Tyler human resource development graduate students made up of Charles Cowell, Pamela C. Hopkins, Rochell McWhorter and Debra L. Jorden.
