The UT Tyler Students in Free Enterprise student organization team, under the leadership of Tammy Cowart, senior lecturer in business law, won second runner-up in this year's SIFE Regional Competition.

Approximately 30 teams from universities and colleges in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana participated and presented projects to a panel of 25-30 corporate executives from various companies including Frito-Lay, Pepsico and Wells Fargo.

Cowart, who serves as the student organization’s adviser, is a two-time recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Award from the Alpha Chi Honor Society.
